MLM prospecting is just like what the miners use to do in the gold rush days. They would sort and sift through tons of rocks and then finer pieces of dirt to eventually find the gold. That is exactly what prospecting is all about, finding the perfect prospect by the act of MLM prospecting.
Just like mining for gold, prospecting can be a time consuming task but just like finding gold it was worth the effort. So how do you got about prospecting and how can you do it effectively? Most people have different personalities and what they are comfortable with. So I will introduce some ideas you can use for your own MLM prospecting efforts
and you can tweak it to whatever works for you.
I want to help you find the best prospects for your business that will produce better results. Most people are just taught to prospect anyone and everyone. That is a big mistake, you want to be prospecting for the best and brightest. Your a CEO of your home business enterprise and you need to find quality people to help you build your organization. The best prospects to go after are people who are successful already, they maybe own their own business or have the skills needed in network marketing already.
One of my mentors taught me to go after professionals like real estate agents, mortgage brokers and other professionals. These type of prospects already have skills that are needed in network marketing. This will help you avoid having to train new associates who have zero experience with making calls, setting appointments and closing sales.
MLM Prospecting Ideas You Can Use To Find Quality Prospects
So where do you find these prospects? It’s really easier then you think to find quality prospects for your network marketing business. Especially with the internet it’s easier now then ever to find tons of people to talk to about your business.

- Join LinkedIn and connect with professionals through groups and by calling them.
- Connect with professionals on Facebook, search for professionals with the search function.

This is just a sample of what you can do in regards to MLM prospecting for your business. From experience it is easier to prospect for professionals versus the majority of prospects. The reason is that professionals are more likely to join your opportunity because they have the right type of mindset for network marketing. Most of these professionals already do what we do in network marketing. But you’d be surprised that many of them are looking for a career change that provides a lucrative income.
MLM Prospecting Versus MLM Marketing
Most people think that MLM prospecting is the same as MLM marketing. Prospecting is more time consuming in my opinion and marketing allows to you use leverage to find prospects. I am not saying that one is better then the other, some people are more suited for prospecting then marketing. MLM marketing is advertising your business through different sources to filter out prospects who want what your offering. Prospecting is done by you alone calling on potential prospects to see if they are open to a business. Marketing on the other hand finds prospects for you by filtering them through a marketing funnel and finding the ones that say yes. Marketing does allow you more freedom. But prospecting does allow you to build rapport much easier then marketing. We all know that this is a relationship driven business and large businesses have been built by forging relationships. Like I said earlier you have to do what is comfortable for you and not because your upline told you to. I hope you can take the ideas I have given you for MLM prospecting and implement them into your business.
