In this article I am not going to give you canned cold market prospecting scripts, because online every situation and prospect is different.
Before you start your network marketing prospecting campaign you will want to do your homework first.
What do I mean by homework?
Your homework assignment is to do your research and find who you will be prospecting.
Are you in a health and wellness business looking to gather new customers?
Or are you a distributor looking to recruit professionals into your downline?
This is why I am not giving you any scripts, because it will vary with who you prospect.
So you might be asking where do I prospect online?
I am so glad you asked!
With the abundance of social media sites take your pick.
To make things easy I will choose Facebook because most people are familiar with how it works.
When it comes to Facebook prospecting you will want to know exactly who your target market is.
For example let’s say you want to sell your weight loss product, where would your perfect prospect hang out on Facebook?
Odds are they will be hanging out in weight loss groups, health groups or anywhere they can
get help with losing weight.
So now you will want to go research what groups fit this criteria, join and become a member.
Now when you first join a group you don’t want to join with all guns blazing.
You’ll want to introduce yourself to the group and slowly work your way in.
Also you want to participate in the group, and if you have some helpful tips, chime in!
Groups can also be a great place to add content, if you have a blog you can share your content
with the group.
This is how I generate leads on Facebook and LinkedIn, by adding valuable content to the group and you can do the same.

Cold Market Prospecting Tips To Approaching Prospects.
Now that you have established who your perfect prospect is and have joined groups now it’s time to learn how to approach prospects.
First let me explain how I prospect online but I know this might not work for everyone
but later on you can use this method.
I join network marketing groups because network marketers are my target market.
I will go through a groups member list and see who I think would be a good fit for what I am offering.
I have a free marketing newsletter where I give away free training to help network marketers
build their business online.
I will look at their profile, and find something I can start a conversation with.
Then I ask them if they would like to join my free marketing newsletter and let them
know what they will be receiving, and odds it’s yes but of course sometimes I get no response!
This works a lot better then pitching prospects.
You can do the same thing, create a free report or something that would be valuable to your prospect.
Here is another cold marketing prospecting method you can use for social media.
You can join a popular group that your perfect prospect hangs out in.
Odds are that the group will share articles or informative information and people will leave comments.
You can look through the comments and find your perfect prospect.
This can be a great icebreaker, you can send that person a message saying how much you liked their post or comment.
Then simply start a conversation and ask them about themselves about what they do.
Go to their profile and find things you have in common, this will help you build rapport.
Don’t pitch them right away, I would wait at least 2 or 3 emails before approaching them.
If you’ve built enough rapport and it’s the right timing the odds will be in your favor to send them information on your business.
But if not, it’s okay because maybe later they will be looking and they will think of you.
